Ankle, Foot and Toe Injections
Ankle and foot
Injections for the ankle and foot can be employed to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal issues. Intra-articular injections, which are guided by ultrasound, are often used to address degenerative changes in the joint (osteoarthritis).
Subtalar ankle joint injection
Talonavicular foot injection
Calcaneocuboid foot injection
Intercuneiform foot injection
Ankle and Heel injection
The talo-crural joint and the subtalar joint are the two commonly injected joints in the ankle. if there is pain and swelling after a sprain, injections to one or both of these joints may be used. tendon issues may also be treated with ultrasound guided injections to the outer aspect of the ankle. inflammation at the interface between the tendon and sheath can be alleviated with an ankle or foot injection.
Achilles tendon pain
Peroneal tendon ankle injection
Tibialis posterior ankle injection
Tibialis anterior ankle injection
Heel pain, sometimes casued by plantar fasciitis, which has not responded to rehabilitation and orthosis can be relieved with a corticosteroid or platelet-rich plasma injection.
Toe Injection
Toe injections can be used to address degenerative osteoarthritis of the toe joints or Morton's neuroma, a swelling of the interdigital nerves between the toes. A steroid injection guided by ultrasound to the affected toes can be effective when combined with footwear modification and orthoses management.
